Following strong summer sales, Luton-based airline easyJet has raised its full-year profit expectations to a whopping £320 million.

The low-cost airline expects pre-tax profits to far surpass previous expectations, predicting the figure to fall between £310 and £320 million, up from between £280 and £300 million.

Profits were driven up by strong demand over the summer for flights from London to beaches across Europe.

Carolyn McCall, easyJet’s chief executive, said: “Following the end of the Olympic Games, demand from London increased towards the upper end of expectations with the late market and beach routes performing particularly well.”

There is also something else for easyJet to celebrate: the launch of the first direct flights between Bristol and Bosnia.

The airline is the largest operator at Bristol Airport and will offer the service on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from £24.99, including taxes.

“We are delighted to be celebrating our latest route launch from Bristol Airport which will provide passengers from the South West with the only direct route to one of Europe’s most dynamic cities,” said Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK commercial manager.

Why go to Bosnia?

Having been repeatedly recognised as one of the cities with the best quality of life, Copenhagen offers the perfect atmosphere for holiday relaxation.

Much like Venice, Denmark’s capital is criss-crossed by a web of waterways which form a fundamental part of the city’s character.

Numerous quaint cobbled squares and impressive copper spires are scattered through the historic city, which also boasts many ancient buildings, galleries, museums and beautiful gardens.

Those after a more fast-paced holiday need not look elsewhere: Copenhagen is one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, with brimming bars and cafés buzzing with life. There’s even an urban beach!

Three miles south of the centre lies a vast white stretch of sand, framed by sand dunes, which runs alongside a sheltered lagoon.

With flights from Bristol from just £24.99, and the opportunity to cut your overall holiday costs even more with a travel money card, a trip to Copenhagen could be the ideal autumn getaway?
